The Coalition of Progressive Electors declare our opposition to the B.C. Libera, l Governments dumping of toxic soil in Shawnigan Lake
“We condemn the negligence of the Clark Government through the action of granting South Island Aggregates permission to dump over 100 million tons of toxic waste into the watershed of Shawnigan Lake. That our Government has taking such action against the people, despite the strength of evidence proving great contamination risk to Shawnigan Lake Watershed and the community at large, demonstrates the Environment Ministry’s complete and utter disregard for not only public safety, but the environment and life itself”says COPE co-chair, Tim Louis
“We remind the Government of British Columbia that it is their sworn duty to serve and protect the people of B.C,and that the protection of water in our Province is of paramount importance for all who live here”. says Connie Hubbs, COPE Co-Chair
