Candidates for the Coalition of Progressive Electors (COPE) will file their nomination papers at Vancouver City Hall today. The filing marks the official start of COPE’s “Standing up for Your Vancouver” 2005 campaign which will focus on the accomplishments of COPE City Councilors, Park Board Commissioners and School Board Trustees.
“We are proud of all what COPE Councillors, School Trustees and Park Commissioners have achieved over the past three years,” said COPE City Council chairperson David Cadman. “They will now be joined by some great new candidates who will continue COPE’s work of standing up for a Vancouver that is sustainable, safe and livable for all.”
COPE will nominate five candidates for City Council, Fred Bass, David Cadman, Tim Louis, Anne Roberts and Ellen Woodsworth. For School Board COPE is nominating Allen Blakey, Jane Bouey, Sharon Gregson, Noel Herron, Angela Kenyon, Kevin Millsip, Conrad Lew, and Allan Wong. Park Board nominees include Spencer Herbert, Omar Kassis, Mel Lehan, Jenn McGinn, Anita Romaniuk and Loretta Woodcock.
