Policy Sneak Peak
This Sunday, at 9:30am, prior to the 2:30 COPE AGM, we will be holding a policy sneak peek and discussion at the Japanese Hall (487 Alexander St). This session is open to the public and we hope to see you to discuss some interesting draft policy to lead us into the next election.
The schedule is as follows:
Wendy Pedersen of the Carnegie Community Action Group and Blair Redlin, CUPE researcher and former provincial Deputy Minister will lead a discussion on the pro’s and cons of increased density in our city. Discussion to follow.
Moderated by COPE Internal Chair and former Homelessness Critic, David
Chudnovsky, COPE will release its draft policy from the "Housing Solutions for Vancouver" forum held in the spring — position papers on everything from coop housing to affordable rentals, social housing and affordable ownership. Discussion to follow.
Vancouver has made a lot of progress to change it’s image from a "no-fun city" to one of public celebrations, but much more can be done. Join facilitator and outgoing COPE staffer, Rachel Marcuse, to blue-sky brainstorm what we can do at the city to make Vancouver a more fun and inclusive place.
AGM begins at 2:30
