WERA is hosting an event at the Coal Harbour Community Centre on Sunday January 13, 2008. WERA is co-hosting the event with the Coal Harbour Residents Association.

We have invited Ottawa City Councilor Clive Doucet to give a talk on climate change and democratic reform. Mr. Doucet is the author of a recently published book entitled Urban Melt Down:  Cities, Climate Change and Politics as Usual. Mr. Doucet will be a very compelling and interesting speaker and he will discuss issues of relevance to Vancouver civic affairs and politics. For more info on Councilor Doucet and his book please visit his web page at: http://www.urban-meltdown.com/ <ttp://www.urban-meltdown.com/%22>

We are also holding a wine and cheese as part of this event and expect it to be an enjoyable time.

Some of the confirmed attendees of the event are the Honourable Dr. Hedy Fry MP, City Councilors Heather Deal, Raymond Louie and Suzanne Anton and Park Board Commissioner Spencer Herbert, Allan de Genova and Loretta Woodcock.

The tickets are $20 each.
