The Vancouver and District Labour Council (VDLC) is endorsing the full slate of  Coalition of Progressive Electors (COPE) candidates for the November 19 Vancouver election.

VDLC President Bill Saunders confirmed today that at it’s October 18 meeting, the labour council endorsed all five COPE council candidates: Fred Bass, David Cadman, Tim Louis, Anne Roberts and Ellen Woodsworth.

The VDLC endorsed COPE Park Board candidates Spencer Herbert, Omar Kassis, Mel Lehan, Jenn McGinn, Anita Romaniuk and Loretta Woodcock.

COPE School Board candidates Al Blakey, Jane Bouey, Sharon Gregson, Noel Herron, Angela Kenyon, Kevin Millsip, Conrad Lew and Allan Wong also have labour’s approval.

Saunders indicated the VDLC will be supporting COPE’s campaign efforts  by "printing and distributing a poll card listing the endorsed candidates."

The VDLC represents 124 local unions in Greater Vancouver with a combined membership of over 60,000 working men and women trade unionists.
