Jennifer Chan is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Education at UBC. She researches on social movement issues and is the author and editor of two books on Japan (Gender and Human

Rights Politics in Japan; and Another Japan is Possible: New Social Movements and Global Citizenship
Education). She is passionate about a spectrum of social justice issues and tries to bridge university research, teaching, and activism. She is a happy mother of two marvelous children, Claire and Paul.
