COPE BY-Election Nomination Meeting

Vancouver is having a By-Election! On October 14, 2017, Vancouver voters will choose the councillor to replace Geoff Meggs who has left city politics and will also elect a school board.

Vancouver has not had an elected school board since one was fired by the then BC Liberal Government in October 2016.

Join Us Tuesday August 29th for COPE’s Nomination Meeting for the Selection of Candidate(s) for the Civic By-Election.

Three COPE Members have put their names forward to be considered for nomination to contest the October 14 By-Election under the COPE Banner.

Our nominees are Wilson Munoz, Terry Martin and Krishna Mulder. COPE Members will also consider a motion to endorse independent council candidate, Jean Swanson.

Diana Day will  be acclaimed COPE School Board Candidate.

Vancouver needs COPE’s Strong, Inclusive and Progressive voice in our civic government. Support COPE with your time and your donations.

A bylaw amendment will put forward to enable to COPE to call future by-election nomination meetings with 21 days notice.

You can be part of making Vancouver better, your thoughts and ideas can create civic policy! Members can develop and approve policy for a better more inclusive city.
