On Sunday, September 19, in a full room of about 100, COPE members elected an exciting new executive. Earlier in the day, members discussed a "sneak peek" policy document draft that focusses on creative solutions to solve Vancouver’s housing and homelessness crisis. The document will be available online at www.cope.bc.ca later this week.

At the AGM, the following candidates were elected by the membership:

External Chair: Marcus Youssef

Internal Chair: Sarena Talbot

Recording Secretary: Donalda Greenwell-Baker

Membership Secretary: Mike Dumler

Correspondence Secretary: Vivian Pan

Treasurer: Nathan Allen

Fundraiser: David Chudnovsky

Members-At-Large: Brent Granby, Rachel Gold, Emily-Anne Paul, Helesia Luke, RJ Aquino

"I’m thrilled to be returning to the COPE Executive in my new role," said incoming COPE External Chair, Marcus Youssef. "This new team is a progressive group of committed organizers, and we’re going to start right away getting ready for the elections in 2011."

COPE’s incoming Internal Chair, Sarena Talbot, who has been chairing the Outreach Committee for the past year, praised the work of the outgoing Executive members and outlined COPE’s priorities in the coming months, "We have a big job ahead of us, engaging with every corner of this city, but this is a team filled with energy and experience, and I’m excited to start laying the groundwork for 2011."
