Vancouver is having a By-Election! On October 14, 2017, Vancouver voters will choose the councillor to replace Geoff Meggs who has left city politics and will also elect a school board.

Vancouver has not had an elected school board since one was fired by the then BC Liberal Government in October 2016.

Vancouver needs COPE’s Strong, Inclusive and Progressive voice in our civic government.

We will select our candidate for City Council and candidates for the School Board

We will be discussing and voting on policy to put forward in the by-election. A bylaw amendment will put forward to enable to COPE to call future by-election nomination meetings with 21 days notice.

You can be part of making Vancouver better, your thoughts and ideas can create civic policy! Members can become COPE candidates!

If you are a member in good standing of COPE and would like to be a Candidate for COPE please contact cope@cope.bc.ca or (604) 255-0400, to be eligible to have your name put on our ballot you must submit a completed nomination form no later than August 14th, 2017. Interested people are strongly encouraged to contact us as soon as possible.
