City Report on Campaign Finance and Electoral Reform coming to council next week
The result of COPE Councillor Woodsworth’s motion on campaign finance and electoral reform is coming to council next week, with recommendations to the BC Local Governments Election Task Force.
The report includes the following recommendations submitted by the City and developed by a cross-party committee initiated by Woodsworth:
"True Sport" motions coming to Vancouver Council and Park Board
At the close of the Paralympic Games, COPE Park Board Commissioner Loretta Woodcock and City Councillor Ellen Woodsworth are bringing forward “True Sport” motions to the March 22 Park Board meeting, and March 25 City Council standing committee meeting.
Park Board marks International Women’s Day with celebration reception
The Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation will be celebrating International Women’s Day March 8 with a public reception from 7-9pm at Heritage Hall, 3102 Main Street.
The reception will honour the women athletes recognized through this year’s Remarkable Women poster series, published by the Park Board. The public are invited to this free celebration to meet some of the women featured and create their own remarkable woman poster.
