Free Speech Zone Shirts

Back in 2009, COPE was fighting a series of Olympic related signage bylaws that, if left unchanged, would have severely curtailed freedom of speech. In fact, head of RCMP security for the games even proposed setting up “Free Speech Zones” to control freedom of expression.

COPE fought these bylaws every step of the way, and eventually got many of the provisions changed. Along the way we also produced over four runs of what became iconic “I am a Free Speech Zone” tee-shirts. Well, guess what?! They’re back!

Right now at City Hall, council is considering another dangerous bylaw that could again clamp down on some types of freedom of expression. It’s unacceptable. To learn more, click here.

Support COPE and look good doing it by ordering your very own “I am a Free Speech Zone” shirt, and fight for freedom of speech in Vancouver. They’re only $20, and you can order your shirt via email: cope@cope.bc.ca
