ELECT FOR PARK BOARD
Brent Granby is a community organizer and activist and has spent the last number of years as the primary care giver to his two daughters. With a long history of activism in the West End, Granby is well recognized as the force behind developing three West End community gardens, as well as a director of the West End Resident Association (WERA) where he also served as President.
While president of WERA, Granby focused his advocacy on issues concerning affordable housing, ecological sustainability and livability. “No one knows better the need to think about affordable housing in the context of the environment and ecology like people in the West End,” says Granby. “The West End is one of the most dense neighbourhoods in North America, and combined with a strong seniors population as well as families, parks and recreation is a big part of my life. I raised my daughters in our parks, and knowing how important these services are to families makes me want to fight to make sure they are around for everyone well into the future.”
Brent lives in the West End with his two daughters and wife Anita.
