The question of taxation needs also to be addressed in the platform. i.e. the shift from business ( including large corporate entities) to the homeowner and renter. This NPA initiative needs to be nipped in the already too large bud.

To me EcoDensity is merely a political marketing tool for the NPA. How can the NPA claim to be prioritizing EcoDensity on one hand, while on the other, the planning department continues to award developers the rights to develop 6-8 unit upscale condiminium units in the Vancouver's most densely populated neighborhoods such as Yaletown and the Westend?? Furthermore, how is the displacement of people in the DTES for the purposes of gentrification good for Vancouver's ecology? If the prefix of "Eco" in EcoDensity is to be understood at face value, then to watch as people are evicted from their homes, committed to suffer the rigors of street life, only to be replaced by 6-10 higher income members of the populace - seems to fly in the face of both "ecology" and "density". Who does the NPA think they are kidding? Do they think that the average Vancouverite can't see what is going on? EcoDensity in it's current nemesis is merely a political ideal being championed by the NPA, or "Non-Partisan Association", an ironic name for a political party that has the hands of developers so far into it's political pockets - that people are actually dying on the streets because of it.
